Bicycle Workshop Services

The workshop is the heart of any good bike store and Capital Cycles is no exception. Our mechanics are experienced passionate enthusiasts with leading knowledge of the full bicycle spectrum from commuter bikes through to specialist mountain bikes and high performance road bikes. Pre Race Tune - from $75 labour

Gear and brake tune and full safety check.

General Service - from $150 labour (+parts)

Brakes, derailleurs, chain, cassettes, chainrings, headset, bottom bracket, wheels and tyres are checked and adjusted. Headset and bottom bracket are disassembled, cleaned and re-greased. 

Cleaning charge of $20 if bike excessively dirty.

Suspension Service - from $100 labour (+parts)

Servicing of MTB front and rear shocks, pricing on request.

Wheel Builds - from $100 labour (+parts)

Wheels built with your choice of rim, nipples, spokes, hubs, spoke pattern and more.

Bike Fit - from $150

A bike fitting is a complex balance, optimizing compromise between aerobic efficiency, aerodynamics and power while prioritizing injury prevention.

Bike fitting offered at capital cycles begins with a discussion about your riding, your history, your body, and your intent. We follow this with some assessment of off-bike stability, strength and flexibility.

We examine your stance while riding your bike on an indoor trainer. At this time we assess how well a given bike or position is suited to you. Variables such as stem length, stem angle, handlebar width, handlebar reach/drop/shape, saddle shape and angle, saddle height, saddle setback, crank arm length, q-factor and float are assessed on the bike and adjusted to ensure an optimum, tailored position. 

We follow up each fitting with assessment which scales from verbal catch-ups, to comprehensive re-assessment as deemed necessary- we understand that fitting and adaptation is a process which can take more than one session- let us work with you to achieve your desired outcomes on your bike.

Bike Boxing - $100 (Freight Extra)

Capital cycles is experienced at packaging up your bike for shipping or taking on a plane. We can obviously reassemble bikes that have been boxed and shipped to Wellington.
